What We Are Looking For  

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, creative, and reliable person to join our team at Omi Picnics to help us sustain and build our next chapter. This role will support the company through styling our beautiful luxury picnic events, carrying out some administrative tasks, as well assisting in the development of our new endeavors. As an important part of our team, we are looking for someone who goes above and beyond. Offered with a flexible schedule, we’re looking for an individual who is interested in not only the setting up and tearing down of our picnic events, but also in the building up of our brand. 

 

As a member of our small team, you will work closely with the owner of Omi Picnics. As our team continues to grow you will be an essential part of cultivating our team culture and rapport.

What You’ll Do 

Styling 

  • Transport equipment/decor to and from picnic location 

  • Set up picnic events based on agreed upon design

  • Clean up after picnic events, as well as sanitize and restock event equipment 

  • Provide excellent hospitality and service to clients 

  • Take photos and video of picnic events to be used for social media

  • Ensure that all picnic event decor and equipment is packed in a manner to guarantee its safe arrival to and from the picnic location.

  • Complete pre and post picnic inventory documentation

  • Occasionally pick up orders from vendors

  • Assist with special events 

 

Administrative 

  • Assist in the development and research of new products and services 

  • Create and maintain email campaigns 

  • Book speakers and vendors 

  • Assist with online community tasks as assigned 

  • Build partnerships with local businesses 

 

Social Media & Blog 

  • Engagement, content creation & scheduling for accounts across divisions

  • Manage content calendar across brand divisions

  • Research and write various types of articles, blogs and other online resources

  • Optimizing content for search engines (SEO) and lead generation

Position Requirements

  • Comfortable setting up outdoors and at client homes (in backyards) 

  • Ability to work in sunny, hot, chilly, and windy conditions

  • Have availability within the operating hours of company 

  • Have reliable transportation with insurance to get to and from work locations (events are throughout San Diego, Temecula and nearby cities). 

  • Vehicle must be large enough to carry oversized materials (i.e., van, SUV, or truck, car with seats that lie flat)

  • Able to occasionally drive a delivery van / large truck

  • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs and walk up and downstairs 

  • Pull a cart on uneven, sandy and sometimes steep surfaces 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Pass a background check 

  • Willing to work on-call

  • Must have previous experience in guest-facing roles 

  • Use personal smartphone to send clients texts, phone calls and take photos/video 

  • Must be punctual and reliable 

  • Good communication skills, easily reachable and prompt in response 

 

Preferred Requirements 

  • Comfortable creating content for social media

  • Previous experience in event management roles

What We Offer

Position type - Part time 

 

Split work schedules on picnic event days 

Flexible schedule (work around your other responsibilities)  

 

Pay $16/hr  10 hours a week minimum 

 

Supplemental Pay: 5% commission for new bookings you secure & tips are split amongst picnic event staff 

 

An annual bonus to be used for (tech, professional growth, or to help you build wealth)

We’re looking for interns to help us create even more magic in 2023. We are busy making a massive impact here at Omi Picnics and want to add some amazing interns to our team who want to be a part of the bigger vision! If you are looking to gain valuable skills, build your resume, and get a head start on your career, we want to meet you!

 

As a Omi Picnics’ intern you will support the team in the following areas:

Social Media & Blog Intern

  • Assist with social media growth strategies 

  • Assist with community management: IG + FB

  • Daily engagement on multiple accounts 

  • Misc content creation needs 

  • Research and write various types of articles, blogs and other online resources

  • Turning pre existing content into blogs

  • Turning blogs + other content into pinterest posts

 

Event/Picnic Styling Intern

  • Assist in the setting up and breaking down of picnic events based on agreed upon design

  • Provide excellent hospitality and service to clients 

  • Take photos and video of picnic events to be used for social media

  • Occasionally pick up orders from vendors

  • Special events - Interns will assist in all aspects of the event planning process, including but not limited to, venue and vendor research, implementing design elements, sourcing and ordering design items, and attending day of events. 

 

Business Management Intern

  • Assist in the development and research of new products and services 

  • Assist in the creation of new membership platform 

  • Assist with online community tasks as assigned 

  • Create website copy

  • Misc Operations + Admin Tasks: Sending contracts, scheduling, thank you gifts 

  • Misc marketing initiatives

  • Create and maintain email campaigns 

  • Build partnerships with local businesses

  • Manage CRM (run reports, add tags, etc.)

Position Requirements

  • Located in the San Diego or Temecula area with reliable transportation

  • Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in marketing, business, event planning, hospitality (or related field). 

  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to organize work and handle multiple requests and priorities. 

  • Able to follow directions and meet all deadlines established

  • Must have a laptop that can be used for work

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong online search and research skills necessary

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram (& related tools), Pinterest (& related tools), Canva, and Google drive.

  • Passion for social media and on top of current social media best practices and trends

  • Ability to work as part of a professional team

  • Pass a background check

Event planning intern

  • Have availability within seasonal operating hours for picnic events

  • Must have previous experience in guest-facing roles 

  • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs and walk up and downstairs

Internship Details

These are unpaid internships for college credit.

 

Although the internship is unpaid, interns will receive a monthly stipend to cover personal experiences, use for tech, professional growth, or to help you build wealth.

 

Internships will begin January 2023. 

 

Interns must be able to commit to a 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year internship. Pick the timeframe that matches your goals and availability.

 

Since you’ll be required through your school to receive school credit for the internship. Your hours may be determined by your class. We require a minimum of 10 hours each week.
